There is a myth about Age for PAN Card eligibility. Most of the people assuming that only 18 years old or more than to it only eligible for applying for the PAN Card. But its only the Myth, Minor can also apply for the PAN Card in India.
Reason Why PAN Card Required for Minor:
Nominee: If you are going to declare minor nominee for your investment, property, stock, etc. You need to furnish PAN Card for the minor.
Investment: If you want to make some investment on your minor child in such a case, you need PAN Card of your small child as well as yours.
Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana Account: Pan Card is required if you are opening a bank account of Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana for your daughter.
Income Tax: If your child is earning. Normally minor income clubbed with their parents. But there are some exceptions in which income tax charged on the hand of minor like parents are not alive, minor is differently able, and minor earning income by using his/her skill.
Process for applying PAN Card for Minor
Online Pan Card Application for Minor
•Visit the official government website for PAN Card https://www.onlineservices.nsdl.com/paam/endUserRegisterContact.htmlBefore filing the form, read all instruction related to Form 49A.
• Choose the application type and proper category.
• Go the application form section
• Fill your details, like title, Name, DOB, Emil ID, and mobile number.
• Now enter captcha code and click on the submit button
• Upload photograph, address proof, identity proof, proof of age of the minor and his/her parents, guardian.
• Signature of parents or guardian.
• Make a payment of ₹107 if you are Indian and ₹ 989 if you are NRI (non-resident–Indian). You can make payment via credit card, debit card, internet banking, or demand draft.
• After that, click on the submit button. You will get an acknowledgment number to track the status of the application.
Offline Pan Card Application for Minor
• Read all instructions before filling the form.
• Download Form 49A from the website.
• Fill all the details and recheck all the information once again.
• Attach a copy of all required documents with the application.
• Enclose two photographs of the minor.
• Submit all the documents and fees to the NSDL office.
• After all required verification PAN card will be sent to the mentioned address.

If the minor had aadhaar card, aadhaar number of minors should be filled in the application form, not representative.

You have to submit a copy of any of the following documents as the age proof.

Pan card of minor doesn’t have any photograph; therefore, it could not use as an identity proof. After turn 18, you have to apply for PAN card updation.
